Abe creates clothes that are entirely unique and timeless, innovative and experimental. Juxtapositions of contrasting textures of fabrics such as knits with super fine wovens and usage of techniques based on reinterpretations of patterns of the garment transform the pieces into unexpected shapes and silhouettes.

With a passion for innovative knit design, London-based cousins Anna Singh and Rachael Wood founded Chinti and Parker in 2009 to bring a new level of tactility to contemporary womenswear. They saw an opportunity to use cashmere in distinctive new ways, creating ready-to-wear collections elevated by time-honoured textile processes.

The result is a collection of items that can transition easily between various occasions and not only reserved for special opportunities. The inspiration for the Sacai Spring/Summer 2016 collection was a play on the notion of distortion. Dis-assembled, re-mixed then re-assembled. Ideas inspired by the naive charm of thrift shop ‘throw-away’ finds, translated for a new modern context and re-configured with couture-like detailing and menswear elements.

Studio Scent celebrates the mess that makes us us: used books and vintage records piled up around the room; a cup of steeped black tea next to last night’s glass of wine; dusty tchotchkes on the oaken spice shelf; mary jane; palo santo smoke hovering over a vase of wilting lavender; allure coming from the bedroom; two soft figs in a bowl of oranges.
A sensual chypre, Studio Scent is structured around rich Turkish fig while blending bergamot with black tea notes, lavender with amberwood, and palo santo with oak moss. Warm and moody, this is an evocative home fragrance inviting bohemian spirits to the space in which we live and work.

Exploring the customisation and decoration of military uniform following the forced conscription of tribal and indigenous peoples.
Garments look to experiment with the ways in which military uniforms – designed to avoid any individualism – are customised and humanised by indigenous peoples, representing the ongoing thematic dualities and core maharishi values of Military / Pacifist, East / West, and Nature / Technology.
Signature artworks reinterpret Vietnamese Hmong Story Cloths, illustrating Hill Tribes communing with AWOL soldiers. Military patches feature heavily within the collection, with classic tour-style patches reworked in organic cotton.
AW20 sees the introduction of DPM: Mamushi – a two colour disruptive pattern inspired by the camouflage commonly worn by South Korean high school students who were receiving military training during the 1970s – 1990s. Taking its name from the venomous viper found in Korea and other areas of East Asia, DPM: Mamushi reinterprets the season’s palette across Woodland, Night, Carmine and Mono colourways – the latter serving as a minimalist variant that stays true to the original Korean camouflage.
The collection is now sold out!
