MAISON KITSUN… FW13-14

This season, Maison Kitsuné is rocking Tokyo, shooting the new images of the fall/winter 2013-14 lookbook. The main and driving inspiration behind these stunning and insightful images is the street-yet-chic style of the collections, artfully incorporating tradition and modernity. Captured moments showcase an emerging romance between the captivating and hottest cover girl based in Tokyo Kiko Mizuhara and the talented Parisian actor Niels Schneider. The Japanese and Tokyo-based photographer Kotori Kawashima, renowned for his genuine and natural style, shot them, while strolling and getting to know each other. Yoko Miyake artfully styled each look, using her expert eye and experience to bring this story to life with flair. Perhaps Tokyo was responsible for this blossoming romance with its breathtaking colors, cityscapes, and inspiring places such as Shibuya, Omotesand?, Harajuku, Yoyogi park and the T?g? shrine, the perfect backdrop for falling in love with Maison Kitsuné’s fall/winter vibe!

ina-beissner-jewelry

Ina Beissner jewelry

In addition to her soft, feminine, abstract interpretations of bells, the spring/summer 2013 collection references curb chains as well as working with opulent fictional shapes. With armor elements and cubist allegories Ina Beissner reveals her vision of the modern woman. “for me a piece of jewelry has something reassuring about it; it’s something that we carry with us, that has a connection to us and in some way protects us,” says Ina Beissner. Creativity, feminine resilience and multicultural genes are what have been driving the young jewelry designer to interpret her version of grace and elegance with her jewelry under her own label for the past two years. Ina Beissner creates unusual pieces of jewelry of captivating sensuality. She unites strong, angular statement pieces with items of a feminine filigree nature. It is a collection whose magic is brought to life through this play on contrasts. The third collection comprises earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings made of rhodanized yellow gold-plated sterling silver. The metals she works with have been recycled and Ina Beissner has all her jewelry produced in Germany.

Visit David Mallett

Welcome to the universe of David Mallett, one of the most celebrated hairdressers in the French and international fashion and beauty scene. David has worked with some of the world's most renowned fashion designers, photographers, artist and stylists. Opened in 2003, the David Mallett Salon is an extension of his personal philosophy: luxurious and incredibly relaxed at the same time. It is located in the heart of Paris, a stone's throw from Place des Victoires and Galerie Vivienne. Located in a grand 17th century hôtel particulier, the luminous salon, is filled with antiques and retro collector's piece furnishings, and eclectic taxidermy. Mallett wanted his salon to be like walking into a fantasy. And today, one of the nicest things about this fantasy is to see a princess, an actress, a model and the woman working in the butcher's shop, all talking and having a cup of tea together chez lui. They are all attended by a 20-strong multinational, cosmopolitan and highly considerate and knowledgeable staff. Watch the video here.

alden

Alden

The shoe company, started in 1884, is believed to be New England's last original shoe and boot maker - the sole survivor in a region that once was dotted with shoe and boot factories. Only one other original company is still around, and it makes golf shoes. As it has bucked the trend, Alden has made its mark on American fashion. The iconic men's tassel moccasin ("tassel moc," in Alden speak) is among its enduring creations, widely copied today. The company specializes in classically styled men's boots and dress shoes. Most of the oxfords, wingtips, and loafers in its catalogs have remained unchanged for decades. Alden shoes are manufactured exclusively in Middleborough, inside a vast brick-and-steel building off Interstate 495. Inside, the factory spans 70,000 square feet, and the whirring sound of sewing machines and the heady aroma of leather fill the air. Here, approximately 100 employees produce thousands of shoes for high-end retailers from Manhattan to San Francisco, and fill orders across the globe for customers from Tokyo to Milan. Have a closer look at our Alden sellection here
