ADIDAS ORIGINALS BY 424 available at Storm 30th November.
For FW19, adidas Originals headed to Fairfax, Los Angeles to team up with one of the West Coast’s most sought-after brands, 424.
424 was co-founded by Guillermo Andrade, and for his first collaboration with adidas Originals, Andrade applied the same vision to three classic adidas footwear models. Despite his undoubtedly contemporary design instincts, Andrade leans on the cleaner, more refined aspects of his sensibilities, ensuring that each shoe feels utterly fresh while still retaining the timeless craftsmanship and attention-to-detail that has come to define adidas’ sporting heritage over the decades.
First up, Andrade turned to the SC Premier, an already minimalist model. In Andrade’s hands, the shoe is stripped back even further: one pair arrives utterly blacked out while the other is an all-off-white affair. Exterior logos of any sort are limited to a subtle laser engraved 424 logo on lateral of tooling and the co-branding on the tongue, which is also the only part of the shoe to feature a pop of color – the scarlet red patch that has become synonymous with the 424 brand in recent years.
LA-based store 424 on Fairfax has joined forces with tattoo artist Sean from Texas and created a capsule collection. The collection consists of t-shirts, sweatshirts and bomber jackets, all featuring printed sketching by Sean from Texas. Known for his unorthodox, minimalistic line tattoos, the pieces offer classic streetwear silhouettes with a humorous twist.
Being one of the Storm faves, 424 continues explore new land under the direction of founder and designer Guillermo Andrade.
The SS17 collection is showcasing his imaginative skills, taking inspiration from his childhood in Guatemala. As Guillermo states it was as a time where he struggled, his family living without running water and electricity, helping his handyman father out with construction and house painting.
Guillermo Andrade has turned these memories into a vibrant collection “The Painter” with strong signal details emerging from the workwear-themed drop.
Guillermo Andrade, founder of Los Angeles- based boutique 424 on Fairfax introduces his first collection. The deeply personal designs are based on his experience with new technology and his adaptation of style. "I was not allowed to visit my brother, who was deported [back] to Guatemala," explained Andrade. "Google Earth made me feel closer to him, being able to see where he was brought me a bit of peace.“ As personal this collection is - he wants his customers to make it their own. "Just download Google Earth, find your place on the planet, type your location on top of the image, get some clear floss or thread, and stitch it onto your jacket.“ Guillermo Andrade introduced his collection during CPH Fashion Week.
New drop from LA-rooted brand 424. From shirts to bottoms to jackets, the collection offers a wide variety of both shapes, prints, materials and colorways. Diversify your wardrobe with 424 as there are a number of ways to combine the different pieces.
Repeating the success from earlier this spring, 424 and Japanese brand doublet have rejoined forces again to create an Autumn/Winter 2017 collection. The collection, heavily consisting of hoodies and tees, have a punk-inspired vibe. Expressed in the strong color combinations of black, red and blue, and the bold prints, embroideries and thread trims, the collection sports bold "424" and "Los Angeles" branding.

For their SS18 season, the LA label hits hard with loads of custom bandana prints, but more noticeably, a wide array of diverted news channel logos, with amongst them CBS, CNN, NBC and the infamous FOX News.
A now more than ever relevant take on today's America, and as Guillermo Andrade says himself, a way to re-appropriate enduring symbols of the Americana spirit he has grown up around.
HUMMEL x 424 – 1ST CAPSULE
Since 1923, hummel has been deeply rooted in the world of football – and a new collaboration with ever-present Guillermo Andrade of 424 marks a new chapter in the mix between modern football history and fashion.
This new capsule collection is created by Guillermo Andrade, lead designer of 424 and founder of hyped Los Angeles boutique FourTwoFour on Fairfax. Bringing to vision his own passion for football – and his love for Dutch football and their national team of the last 20 years in particular – the collection merges football silhouettes with a forward-looking approach based in the world of style.
“I wanted to show some love for the actual football kits that are worn on the pitch – and the clothes worn on the way to the pitch. That’s why you will find styles like the windbreaker and the track jacket. The wearable aspect is merged with the very technical aspect of football – based in fashion, but made to be worn on the pitch,” says Guillermo Andrade.
With its bright orange and black colour-scheme, the collection recalls the psychological part of football; how teams unify and can become an intimidating factor just by their matching kits is a red thread in the design of these pieces.
“It’s a dream come true to work with hummel again. I have always dreamt of providing high level football kits at a decent price point and offer it to a bigger crowd, so people can obtain it. And this is the perfect collaboration for that.”
The capsule collection is created in hummel’s hub for creative collaborations, HUMMEL HIVE. It’s the second collaboration between hummel and Andrade, as 424 was one of four creatives behind a small high-end capsule delivered in August 2016. With a range of designs, clear colours, a mix of the 424 and hummel logos and technical sport details present a modern array of styles that can be worn both on and off court.
424 "The Painter"
The second drop of 424's SS17 collection is, as well as the first drop, a result of founder and designer Guillermo Andrade's imaginative skills, with inspiration from his childhood in Guatemala. In the collection hoodies, long sleeves and t-shirts with rubber screen prints are to find amongst many other cool styles. Statements such as "Discover the Earth", a paint can and the signature "FOURTWOFOUR" print is also a part of the collection.
Denmark-based sportswear brand Hummel is a sports-centric brand with a focus on practical yet fashionable design. The brand’s love for sport and football in particular has resulted in the name almost becoming synonymous with football internationally. It is that love for football which has been the inspiration for this collaborative capsule collection.
Designer Guillermo Andrade from 424 on Fairfax, shoe designer Erik Bjerkesjö, sportswear designer Malkit Singh and Rasmus Storm founder of Storm, have come together in collaboration with Hummel to create ‘424 on Fairfax & Storm for HUMMEL HIVE’. The collection celebrates hummel's history, updating hummel's past to the present.
