Artist Editions

Plethora Magazine is releasing their new artist edition series, featuring artwork from Julien Colombier and images of Jean-Michel Basquiat through photographer Nicolas Taylor. The artist editions are limited, special editions to showcase and elaborate on artists featured in Plethora Magazine, creating the opportunity to enjoy some of the chosen artists work in greater depth. Julien Colombiers book is quite extraordinary being the first independent monograph in his 18 year career. His first art work was published by Chanel 3 years ago. This artist edition represents Colombiers work in 2013/2014. The Basquiat images are a collection of photographs by Nicolas Taylor capturing the young artists life. These long forgotten images are now published in form of the second Plethora Magazine artist print edition. Both artist editions will be exclusively launched at Storm. ASAP Mob vs Raf Simons

ASAP Mob vs Raf Simons

Raf Simons can’t escape the hype, it seems. Recently his direction of The XX’s new video caused high praise, and now he’s being celebrated thoroughly in the brand new A$AP Mob video for ”RAF” featuring A$AP Rocky, Quavo and Playboi Carti – sporting some fabulous archive Raf Simons pieces.

”It’s refreshing to see how Raf Simons archive pieces easily stands the test of time – even in a totally new context”, Rasmus Storm explains. ”Always being true to himself and his uncomprised style, Raf’s pieces are never calculated, but projects a timeless realness nowhere else to be found”.

asmund-havsteen-mikkelsen

Asmund Havsteen Mikkelsen

We interviewed artist, Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen, about his latest t-shirt project "Denmark“, his inspiration for it and his current exhibition. How would you describe the artwork for this t-shirt in one sentence? Inverting a geo-power-structure between Denmark and Greenland, making the smaller nation the conquerer! What inspired you while creating this piece? A map of greenland, a Greenlandic social-worker who taught me dirty words from Greenland and the need to poke fun at Denmark warring in Aghanistan at that moment (2004). Where can we see your work? My new solo-show is at Gallery Kant: The Infinity Complex, St. Kongensgade 3. I am showing paintings dealing with the architectural construction of infinity. Top 5 songs at the moment? I have been listening to a record by Peter Sommer - Destructive Vokaler - for the last 3 years every day in the studio. There is a special way in which he describes the situation of being in your mid-thirties – the attempts and struggles to fulfill your dreams in life. The t-shirt is exclusively available in-store

autumn-winter-2020-maharishi

Autumn Winter 2020 Maharishi

Exploring the customisation and decoration of military uniform following the forced conscription of tribal and indigenous peoples.

Garments look to experiment with the ways in which military uniforms – designed to avoid any individualism – are customised and humanised by indigenous peoples, representing the ongoing thematic dualities and core maharishi values of Military / Pacifist, East / West, and Nature / Technology.

Signature artworks reinterpret Vietnamese Hmong Story Cloths, illustrating Hill Tribes communing with AWOL soldiers. Military patches feature heavily within the collection, with classic tour-style patches reworked in organic cotton.

AW20 sees the introduction of DPM: Mamushi – a two colour disruptive pattern inspired by the camouflage commonly worn by South Korean high school students who were receiving military training during the 1970s – 1990s. Taking its name from the venomous viper found in Korea and other areas of East Asia, DPM: Mamushi reinterprets the season’s palette across Woodland, Night, Carmine and Mono colourways – the latter serving as a minimalist variant that stays true to the original Korean camouflage.

The collection is now sold out!
