SS13 Common Affairs
stormfashion.mom
COMMON Affairs 2013 Spring/Summer. The creators behind COMMON Affairs, Saif Bakir and Emma Hedlund, present an inspiring and fresh SS13 collection. “It’s a fusion of London edge, Paris chic and Scandinavian minimalism,’ says Bakir. And the continental mixture of influences makes sense, considering Bakir and design partner Emma Hedlund studied at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins in London, worked for Wooyoungmi and Kanye West in Paris before moving back to their native Malmö to kick start their new design venture. But there’s more to the Swedish connection than just a sense of simplicity and minimalism; Common is all about domestic manufacturing. Offering a menswear collection 100% manufactured in Sweden, Common stands for unique design and the highest quality.
SS14 Katie Eary

Rising out of the unlikely inspirations of the wilds of southern Africa, the acid house scene and the fevered imaginations of a Edinburgh football thug comes flamingo massacres, the spring/summer’14 collection from Katie Eary. Taking influence from Irvine Welsh’s seminal novel marabou stalk nightmares the collection tells the story of a hallucinatory and primitive gender war, all based on mans lustful, but hateful fascination with the beautiful flamingo. The bird that somehow seems too beautiful to live. Shop Katie Eary here

Stockholm New
stormfashion.mom
The international, multiple award-winning fashion and style magazine Stockholm New was published in a total of twelve issues over the years 1993-2002. It's a well-documented claim that the magazine was trendsetting, even groundbreaking, not only in Sweden but internationally. It’s also generally acknowledged that Stockholm New played a key role in the creation of a new contemporary »Sweden image« — that of a modern, cutting edge scene for fashion, trends, design, and a wide range of creative expressions. In its day, Stockholm New also staged a number of equally trendsetting large-scale lifestyle events in Milan, Tokyo, New York, London, Paris, and, of course, Stockholm. Now the best of the classic material from Stockholm New has been selected for publication in a massive (more than 600 pages hardcover) coffee table book, along with a great deal of newly produced exclusive material — fashion, nudes, landscapes, architecture, still-lifes, art, cultural history, portraits, historic photography and more. For the launch in Denmark the Editor-in-Chief of Stockholm New, Claes Britton will visit Storm to sign this wonderful piece of fashion history. Book launch & signing; 9th of August, 4-6pm at Storm.
