K1X x Lee x Richie Culver
stormfashion.mom
K1X’ unique street basketball DNA is alienatedly showcased in traditional Lee denim jackets. Borders of art, street and denim blur alongside Richie’s art pieces. The project is a perfect example of art x street fashion. The exploratory and improvisational approach to making art we find in Richie Culver’s growing oeuvre can be seen as an outcome of the tensions between binary cultural and social opposites — provincial vs. cosmopolitan; cash-strapped vs. affluent; art museum highs vs. street-cultural lows. In what seems an examination of ones experience and inner self, the material outcome of this attitude to creativity can take any one of a range of forms, from gritty documentary photography (much of it made during a period working on a trailer park) to urban bricolage, from primitively executed drawings and paintings through to video. Highly style conscious and yet pragmatic, there is a kind of punk aesthetic at work in Culver’s approach both to art-making and to exhibiting. Richie Culvers work embodies a level of honesty and vulnerability and he has what a lot of young artists today strive for – the artist lifestyle.

KAR / L'ART DE L'AUTOMOBILE
stormfashion.mom
Automobiles have always been a major part of our society. Everyone has a story they'd like to tell, a trip, a car, a detail, a smell, a roadside billboard, a particular gas station or even a breakdown...Yet no one has transcribed these memories and experiences into an aesthetic out of the car industry.

This is precisely what Arthur KAR and his creative team are doing at KAR. Combining their strong knowledge and understanding of the arts & fashion, and the reknowned yet secretive world of L'art De L'automobile, to create fundamental and conceptual garments.
Finding balance between high-end tailoring and design, the influence of street culture, and environment too often reserved to car aficionados, such is the ambition of KAR.

Ever since the Karhu Performance Running team presented The Synchron 2020, the Karhu lifestyle team (known as LEGEND) have been huge fans.
The Synchron 2020 is a shoe that has all the technical features you would expect a shoe from a premium running brand to have. However, some of Karhu’s leading technologies like Ortix and Fulcrum were developed back in the 80s and have been our main technologies ever since. The Synchron 2020 also includes Karhu’s Synchron Lacing System, which is featured in the Synchron Classic, a staple in the LEGEND collection since 2016.
The clean knitted upper and technical sole unit made the Synchron 2020 the perfect shoe for the LEGEND team to create a version that would not just be a great running shoe, but also a stylish, comfortable version for everyday use.
The first iteration of The Synchron 2020, colour designed by the LEGEND team, is nicknamed the “Dusty Coral”, inspired by the vibrant sole unit, and comes in women’s sizes especially made for the Karhu women’s running collection.

Karhu Trampas "Friendship Pack"
stormfashion.mom
Finland and Japan have a unique history when it comes to running. Back in the 50s and 60s, the Finns were some of the few foreign athletes to travel and compete at the Fukuoka Marathon. A shared appreciation for distance running became the foundation for a long-lasting friendship.
With the biggest global sports event happening in Tokyo this summer, it felt like the perfect time to celebrate this special friendship between the two nations.
Karhu chose to tell this story through our iconic 1960s running silhouette, the Karhu Trampas, deemed by one of the greatest distance running coaches of all times, Sir Arthur Lydiard, as “the best training shoe in the world”.
The “Friendship” Pack inspired by the national colours of Japan and Finland consists of the Trampas in two versions. The M-logo Trampas, the Japan version, features a white grained leather upper and red suede M-logo design, while the Finland version features a blue suede upper and a white grained leather support stripe. Both shoes are decorated with a debossed and gold printed Karhu wordmark, used initially on our footwear in the 50s and 60s. To set the pack apart, both pairs come with free matching Made in Italy socks.

Keith Haring x Obey collaboration
stormfashion.mom
“Though Keith Haring died only two years after I started making street art, his art and practice had already made a profound impact on me. At art college and on the streets of NYC in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Keith’s radiant baby and other images could be seen on the tees of all the flyest hipsters. Keith Haring was a prolific artist with a distinct style of drawing and painting that was simultaneously refined, but primitive, deliberate but lyrical and energetic. Haring believed “the public has a right to art” and this philosophy informed his populist approach to spreading his art and messages. He pursued his art with a deeply personal vision, but also as a champion of social justice and a belief in the interconnectedness of humanity. Haring demonstrated the power of art on the streets, but he also put his art on t-shirts and record covers. He even opened a retail space in NYC called The Pop Shop. Eventually Haring’s artwork became widely respected, displayed, and sold as “fine art”. Haring rose from the 80’s NYC graffiti scene to not only affect the art world, but to dramatically impact pop culture. Inspired by Keith Haring’s achievements, I pursued my art career with the optimism that my goals could be attained.” Shepard Fairey. The collection is now available at Storm
